So in this section, I’m going to tell you a little bit about myself and how this site came to be.

My name is Alberto Alfaro and I write all the articles on this website.
I majored in Chemical Engineering at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. In a few months, I’ll be finishing my Master’s Degree, and my next plan is to start a career at an American company.
The process of choosing the right college can be really tough, especially in the United States.
You’ve probably searched the web for advice, just to end up finding off-topic comments from internet trolls and auto-generated sites without any context.
However, we are talking about one of the most important decisions in anyone’s life. So you can’t afford to make a choice based on misleading or low-quality information.
And that’s why I created this site!
I am not here to share any biased opinions or irrelevant comments. Instead, I’ll offer you a handful of in-depth articles that will guide you through this process, always from a data-driven perspective.
As a chemical engineer, I know that facts matter. I’ve been an intern at the Atmosphere Science Center and the Mexican Petroleum company. During my time there, I learned how to approach problems effectively.
How the articles are created.
The process of writing an article on this site basically consists of four steps:
- I always start by getting the data I need from reliable sources, such as the National Center of Education Statistics.
- With that information, I calculate the variables that may be relevant to you, such as acceptance rates and net prices. The reason to calculate these variables is accuracy. Unlike other websites, I will never report a 15% acceptance rate when the actual value is 14.51%.
- Once I have prepared all the data, I create the necessary graphs to help you spot trends, identify opportunities and avoid risks.
- And finally, after I’ve finished gathering the data and creating the charts, I write an extensive report to present the information in a clear and easy-to-follow manner.
As you can see, this is a rigorous and data-based approach. Therefore, you only get the information that matters without any fluff.
And last but not least, I always verify that all the articles are updated. Whenever there’s new data available, I come back and update the content. It doesn’t matter if I have to rewrite a whole post.
